Searching for a Christmas, birthday or anniversary gift? A food hamper – bursting at the seams with an array of deli delights – is guaranteed to suffice. With so much choice on the market, there's certainly something to suit all tastes. Food and drinks hampers are suited to a variety of different occasions and can be tailored to almost any taste. From sweet treats and savoury delights, Italian food hampers, spicy food hampers, heath food hamper, Scottish food hampers, vegetarian food hamper, British food hampers to champagne-infused hampers and wine connoisseur goods – you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding on the contents.
First and foremost, you must choose a theme. For example, if you're attending a baby shower, you may wish to fill your hamper with cute clothing, toys and an array of relaxing lotions and potions for mum. Alternatively, if you're gifting your dad or boyfriend, it's likely to encase something entirely different. Food Gift Hampers for men tend to include ales, cheeses, chutneys and chocolate, whilst food gift hampers for women are more likely to feature sweet smelling leaf teas, cupcakes, biscuits and bubbles. Other popular hampers include gardening goods (an ideal gift for the green fingered expert), arts and crafts, movie madness, spa essentials, high tea, sports and of course, every type of food imaginable.
If you're creating cheap food hampers from scratch, you may wish to shop in a variety of different stores – both online and on the high street. You'll need to invest in a basket and decide on a theme before beginning. Deciding on a budget will also help you decide where to shop. If you need to keep costs down, you may wish to make a number of the items yourself and fill the hamper with the likes of homemade cookies, jams, chutneys, spices and handmade fudge. If you have no limit on your budget, you may decide to include a selection of fine wines and gourmet cheeses, as well as tickets to the opera or theatre. If you're searching for a hassle-free solution and a little inspiration, shopping online for food hamper gifts is a great idea. SerenataFlowers.com boasts various styles of gift hampers – meaning you're guaranteed to find one that ticks all the right boxes. If you're sending the hamper as a gift to someone in another town or city, then buying on the web is a must. The majority of online stockists will wrap and hand deliver hampers to your chosen address. They even allow you add a note with message, so that whomever you send the hamper to, knows that it's from you.
When sending a food and drinks hamper as a gift, it's important to order in plenty of time – especially in busy seasons, such as Christmas and Easter. Asides from not arriving on time, you may find that your desired items are out of stock. Other factors to take into account include food allergies and hobbies. There is little use in presenting a hamper filled with cheese to those with a dairy intolerance, just as it would be a waste to gift a golf-inspired hamper to someone who has little interest in the sport. With this in mind, it's important to do your research! If you're unsure of what to put in a hamper that is a present, yet don't wish to spoil the surprise, choose something generic. Alternatively, ask the recipient's friends and family for ideas in secret – they're bound to know which sweets or other scrumptious goodies they prefer.
From timeless to unique designs, there are various food hamper trends to date, with new ones emerging each and every year. Food and wine hampers will always be popular and make for a decadent gift, whilst the likes of macaroons, cupcakes and candy are less traditional and more playful. Today's traditional trends include fine wines, tea and coffee, chocolate, biscuits and cakes, confectionary and sweet treats, jams, preserves, pasta and sauces. All of these items can be mixed and matched to create something exquisite. Usually, the contents of the hamper will arrive in a wicker basket; however many are now choosing to buy hamper goodies encased in leather trunks, bottle bags and colourful boxes. More unique food and drinks hamper trends include hand crafted soaps and cosmetics, sporting equipment, gardener essentials, spa products, seasonings, spices and books. One of the biggest trends this year is the health food hampers – a mixture of raw, vegan and paleo delights, including the likes of smoothie mixes, detox teas, energy cookies, health food supplements and wellness guides. Another popular one is American food hamper, featuring some staples of the American cooking, but sourced in the UK. What would you love to receive in a food hamper?
