Birthday Flowers According to Zodiac Sign

Serenata Flowers
There are so many fabulous blooms available that it may be hard to choose which ones to fill your home with or to give to others.
The signs of the zodiac tell us the expected characteristics of a person and there are a number of flowers which are expected to suit each sign perfectly.

If looking for something special for a birthday gift choosing someone’s birth flowers could be an excellent choice.

ARIES: March 23 – April 23

Aries are sometimes known as being bad-tempted however they are also very affections, motivated and organised.

The birth flower for Aries is widely recognised as thistle and honeysuckle. Thistles are often used in bouquets as their prickly beauty adds greatly to arrangements made up in classical colours or even hot house type bouquets with bright gerberas.

TAURUS: April 23 – May 23

The main feature of those born under the sign of Taurus is their stubbornness, but they are also known for being sensuous and sensitive. Nurture their sensuous and sensitive side by sending some scented flowers like lilies or roses, sweet smelling bouquet is the best choice for Taurus!

GEMINI: May 23 – June 23

Geminis are know for their double-sided personality, they are deeply expressive and introspective. They often excel in artistic professions and are known for their creative nature and big imagination. When sending flowers to Gemini, go for bold colours and unusual shapes to appeal their expressive and creative nature, we recommend exotic bouquets with tropical flowers.

CANCER: June 23 – July 23

Those born under the sign of Cancer are known to be funny, sweet, good natured and easy to get along with. White flowers of many kinds are known as their birth flower, especially white roses. Perhaps the pure white colour has something to do with purity of spirit which those born under the Cancer sign certainly seem to possess?

A perfect arrangement for a Cancer sign would be strong white roses with a mixed of greenery and perhaps the odd splash of colour to appeal to the cheeky side.

LEO: July 23 – August 23

Those born under the sign of Leo are said to love fun and are especially creative or love creative things such as dance, music or art. Their birth flowers for Leo are sunflowers which of course are as bright and cheerful as they come.

An oversized bouquet of sunflowers with dramatic fronds and leaves or a mix of orange gerbera and sunflowers would make the perfect gift for a Leo.

VIRGO: August 23 – September 23

Virgos are caring, friendly and are known for being perfectionists in many ways as well as having a keen eye for detail. Unsurprisingly the flowers attributed to Virgo are small and tidy flowers such as buttercups, narcissus and chrysanthemums.
Chrysanthemums were first recorded as being cultivated in China as long ago as the fifteen century and today are incredibly popular with many today. They look wonderful mixed with larger blooms of various colours and tidy greenery.

LIBRA: September 23 – October 23

A Libran is keen on balance, fair play and according to history and astrology justice for all too. Many flowers are associated with Librans including hydrangeas, asters, large daisies, bluebells and large roses (which are widely recognised as their main birth flower).
Blue plays a common theme throughout the flowers associated with Librans and so the perfect arrangement would be a mix of blue flowers, large roses and plenty of greenery to tie them together.

SCORPIO: October 23 – November 23

Scorpios are dark horses, being rather mysterious some might say. With a natural tendency towards the academic, being intelligent and having a keenly intuitive mind it is safe to say that Scorpios know their stuff!
Dark red geraniums which are dramatic and yet mysterious in their own right, heather and honeysuckle are all associated birthday flowers and all looked fabulous on their own or as part of a larger bouquet.

SAGITTARIUS: November 23 – December 23

Loveable and fun are descriptions most often attributed to our favourite archers and carnations are their uncomplicated, pretty and fun birth flowers. So versatile carnations come in a number of colours, although pink and white seem to be favoured most of all by Sagittarians, and they look fabulous on their own or mixed into a larger arrangement. Thistles are also often considered favourites for Sagittarians so these could certainly be included as attractive and dramatic additions to a bouquet.

CAPRICORN: December 23 – January 23

Like fine wines a Capricorn will apparently get better the older they are although whether getting “better” means wiser or more mischievous is anyone’s guess? Capricorns favour material gain, long life and structure and a number of beautiful flowers are considered to be linked to their birth.

Pansies, ivy flowers, knapweed and heartsease are all favourites as is baby’s breath which adds to finishing beautiful touches to any posy or larger arrangement.

AQUARIUS: January 23 – February 23

Aquarians are anything but conventional and are known for being both openly emotional, in a positive way, and extremely forward thinking. Orchids are the birth flowers most often associated with this sign and these beautiful blooms fit brilliantly with the Aquarian characteristics. Strikingly beautiful in their many colours orchids look amazing however you choose to arrange them.

PISCES: February 23 – March 23

If you have a friend who is the resident funny guy or gal, has a great sense of humour, is intuitive and perhaps also has a spiritual side the chances are they were born under the Pisces zodiac sign. Water lilies, poppies, moss, lilac, orchids and even rhubarb are known as birth flowers to a Pisces as are clematis, all of which look fabulous in a wild or a more orderly arrangement.

Do your birthday flowers and zodiac traits match up with yourself or what you know about the person you plan to treat with some beautiful blooms?
