After an initial problem when the wrong flowers were delivered Serenata pulled out all the stops to send the correct ones when we requested. They did not quibble and sent the correct flowers. Cannot fault them at all. My friend is so happy with them. Well done Serenata.

Care tips for Carnations

Ah carnations! They are a joy to receive and even better to send as a gift. If you have a beautiful bouquet at home, follow the steps in our care card to ensure they will keep you company for as long as possible. Cut your carnations stems at an angle under running water with sharp knife. Place them into a vase with room temperature water and add flower food. Leaves should all be above waterline of the vase. Change the water every few days. Cut their stems every few days to keep them looking fresh. Keep your flowers away from fruits and drafty places. Play the perfect host by changing the water and adding more plant food every three days or so. Feel free to talk to your blooms, but be careful not to cause unease to other guests who may be visiting.

Questions about Carnations

Carnations are commonly associated with Mother's Day - pink carnations are dedicated to all mums. As with other flowers, carnations do have a variety of meanings, including grief. White carnations have been commonly associated with sorrow and are a common flower used in sympathy bouquets.

Carnations mix really well with a variety of other fresh blooms, for example roseslilies, freesia and many other ones.

Carnations are one of the most affordable flowers from the floral family, so if you are on a tight budget, opting for a full bouquet of carnations certainly won't break the bank.

Depending on variety and the quality of the fresh blooms, carnations would last approximately 5 - 7 days when taken care of correctly.
