  • Sustainable Flowers, Thoughtfully Sourced

At Serenata Flowers, we believe beautiful blooms should be a joy to send and receive, while being sourced with care for the world around us. That’s why we work closely with our trusted partner, MM Flowers, who are committed to improving the environmental and social sustainability of their flowers through responsible sourcing, innovation and collaboration. MM Flowers are also members of FSI a multi-stakeholder initiative which aims to address key sustainability issues in international floriculture supply chains, including responsible trade, supply chain transparency, environmental foot-printing and living wage.

From carefully selected grower partners to recognised assurance schemes across Kenya and Colombia, every step helps support more responsible flower sourcing. It means you can send sustainable flowers with confidence, knowing there is care behind every stem.

  • How Our Flowers Are Sourced with Care

    • Responsible Growing Standards: MM Flowers works with grower and supplier partners who uphold high standards across environmental, social and governance practices. Many of their farms across Kenya and Colombia are certified by recognised assurance schemes, including Fairtrade, GLOBALG.A.P., MPS, Kenyan Flower Council and Florverde.
    • Water Management: Responsible water use is an important part of sustainable flower sourcing. Many MM Flowers grower partners have water management plans in place, including rainwater harvesting systems that capture runoff from greenhouses and store it in dams. This helps reduce the need for surface water abstraction and supports more careful use of local water sources.
    • Energy Management: Many of our flowers are grown in equatorial regions such as Kenya, Colombia and Ecuador, where natural daylight and warm, stable temperatures help flowers thrive without the need for energy-intensive heated greenhouses or supplementary lighting. Where energy is needed, many growers use renewable sources such as solar, hydroelectric and geothermal power.
    • Reducing Waste: Organic flower waste on farms is increasingly repurposed through composting and mulch, helping support more circular and resource-efficient production. MM Flowers also operates a zero waste to landfill policy at its own operating sites, diverting waste to composting, recycling or energy recovery.
    • Supporting Workers and Communities: Sustainability is about people too. MM Flowers works with growers who support fair work, employee wellbeing and resilient communities, from worker feedback channels to community projects, school meals and initiatives that help support women across the flower supply chain.
  • Flowers That Feel Good to Send

When you choose sustainable flowers from Serenata Flowers, you’re sending more than a beautiful bouquet. You’re choosing blooms sourced with care for the environment, workers and communities behind them.

Thoughtfully sourced and beautifully arranged, our sustainable flowers make every gesture feel even more meaningful.
